Firefighters took to the streets Wednesday — in the name of saving lives.
A day after a man was hurt in a fire in a home that did not have smoke alarms, they canvassed the home’s neighborhood in the 6200 block of North Fulcher Avenue in North Hollywood, installing smoke alarms for free to residents and offering tips.
The Los Angeles Fire Department partnered with MySafe:LA, an organization that provides fire safety education to L.A. residents.
The man was in serious condition Tuesday morning after the house fire, authorities said.
The fire was knocked down by 30 firefighters in 14 minutes, the spokesman said.
