Los Angeles police turned to the public Wednesday to help find Mariya Mitkova and Aaron Morganstein, an Elysian Park couple that hasn’t been seen since Saturday.
Mitkova and Morganstein are frequent campers and were believed to be headed to Joshua Tree National Park in the Coachella Valley, or the Imperial Sand Dunes in Imperial County. They were last seen leaving their home in the 2200 block of Shoredale Avenue, the LAPD’s Missing Persons’ Unit said Wednesday in a press release.
Friends became worried when the two didn’t show up for work Monday and reported them missing to police in Los Angeles, the Yucca Valley and Riverside, the Desert Sun reported.
Mitkova, 27, is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs around 130 pounds, police said. She has blonde hair, blue eyes and was wearing a white T-shirt with print on it and shorts before she vanished.
Morganstein is 33 years old, has black hair and brown eyes, according to police. He stands 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighs around 180 pounds and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a brown shirt, grey hoodie and brown hat.
The two were traveling in a dark blue 2002 Subaru Outback with California license plate number 6PHR231.
